Behind the Scenes – Stock Images

I found this picture that was taken by one of my assistants without my knowledge…lol!  It’s my favorite spot to take stock pictures. I often wonder what goes on in the minds of people passing by when they see me on the ground taking pictures of toys…lol!

Olivia, Queen of the Snowmen (Storybook Series)

Olivia, Queen of the Snowmen (Storybook Dream Pet Series)
© Julie McGann – Fine Art Portraits
Bringing children’s imagination to life worldwide!

Snowman Web
Dress: Love baby J

Child’s Imaginary Idea: Like many girls, this girl LOVES the Disney story “Frozen” and dreams of being Elsa. If she could have a dream pet, it would most definitely be Olaf. However, an interesting twist, she would rather the snowman be a girl with the name Olivia who would be the Queen of the Snowmen. They would both have magical snow powers that they used together.

Behind the Scenes

A little peek behind-the-scenes for your evening enjoyment…A lot of people have been asking me about what the personal photos of the dogs looked like that I used for my Afternoon Tea Pet Portrait. Here are the exact three pictures I used to create Afternoon Tea. I asked the pet owner to take a picture of her dogs with their paws on a table. The rest is Photoshop magic!

Close-Up Afternoon Tea

Each and every portrait I create is custom made right down to the tiny little details. You normally can’t zoom in here, so I thought I would zoom in for you! I created this portrait based on the personality of each dog, as explained to me by the pet owner in the description below.

The Pet Owner’s Imaginary Idea: Although my specialty is children’s portraits, I also create pet portraits. This request came from a pet owner! She really wanted to have a portrait of her dogs having an elegant tea party. She pictured a Victorian style Old English outdoor tea party, complete with chandelier hanging from the tree and fancy hats.

Katie is the beautiful sophisticated senior dog fanning herself in the back. She prefers the coolness of the shade. She is elegant and wise, looking very fashionable in her pink dress. Emma, on the left, is the diva of the group! She is the leader of the pack and a total drama queen. She has been featured on Target Boots & Barkley pet products recently and even has her own dog blog! Emma just loves the color red! Bailie, on the right, is the baby of the group and looks up to the other two dogs. She is a very goofy dog and loves the colors brown and orange. She wants to be just like them!

Be sure to check out Emma’s very own dog blog!

Lemonade and Lenses

Exciting news! My article was chosen to be featured in July’s Child issue of Lemonade and Lenses Magazine along with a bunch of my portraits!! It is titled “Finding Inspiration” and is about different ways photographers can find inspiration without looking at other photographers work.

Here is a sneak peak:
“Do you ever find yourself stuck in a rut with your portraits and need a fresh new idea? However, when you look at other photographer’s work, not only do you feel an incredible lack of imagination, but you also start questioning the quality of your work as well, am I right? Or you think the photographer’s idea is genius and decide to try it yourself, only to end up getting in trouble for “copying” that photographer’s idea? Well, it’s time to stop this cycle and I can tell you how!”

If you want to read more, you can find it HERE! It is only $5 to get a digital copy!
